Background

Alison Park playground is located at the South-East corner of Alison Park and have been bringing joy to the community since 1986, when the first play equipment was installed. Currently, the playground has a fenced area of 491m2 and 5 play equipment.

As part of Council`s engagement in improving open spaces, in September 2022, the community was consulted in order to learn more about how people use the Alison Park playground and gather ideas for the upgrade. From the consultation we learned that 69% of respondents visit the playground with children aged 0 to 6 and 60% visit regularly.

Two concept plans were presented for the community to vote and make comments and the winning concept design is being presented here. The upgrade of this playground will increase the quantity of play equipment to serve more local community and minimise the gap of playspace in Randwick area.
