Created a decade ago by a local from Bondi, Responsible Runners evolved from a single person collecting waste around Bondi Beach to a multitude of small groups gathering together to clean our pristine beaches and parks.  Wilderness Society – Sydney East Community Group
We are the Sydney Eastside Community Group, your local group of the Wilderness Society’s Movement For Life, a network of like-minded people across Australia. Together we are growing a powerful movement to give nature a voice. We are driving environmental action through people such as yourself, acting for nature both locally and nationally.  We work with our community to protect, preserve and restore our local environment through direct action such as plantings, through education like guided nature walks and through working with councils, local MPs etc. We reach out to our local community through conversations with individuals, but also through our relationships with established networks, institutions and decision makers. And we unite with other community groups around our state and Australia-wide to mobilise on issues of state and national environmental significance.  The Wilderness Society is non-confrontational, a-political, open and inclusive, aims to build a movement truly representative of the communities we are working in, is totally self-funded and does not accept corporate funding.  If you feel more could be done for nature, we’d love to have a chat. Please just reach out!

Last Thursday of the month, either at The Wilderness Society Surry Hills Office, via Zoom or as agreed.
