Randwick Pride
Randwick City Council celebrates Pride annually with the Randwick Pride event at Coogee Beach. This free family-friendly event promotes equality and inclusivity and shows support for the LGBTIQA+ community.

Mardi Gras at the Library
To celebrate the 2025 Mardi Gras Randwick City Council Library hosted a range of vibrant and engaging events in February. These events celebrated diversity and inclusion through such as story times and arts and craft workshops for kids and young people.

Coogee Rainbow Walkway
In December 2020, Randwick Councillors unanimously supported an initiative to install a temporary 50-metre rainbow walkway on Coogee Beach Promenade as part of a Randwick City Council proposal to celebrate diversity, inclusivity and equality.

In 2023, the Coogee Rainbow was updated to include five additional Progress Pride Flag colours to create a more inclusive rainbow that welcomes and celebrates our diverse community.

Rainbow Flag Raising
Commencing in 2015, each year Randwick City Council raises a rainbow flag at Randwick Town Hall to celebrate the commencement of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival and to show support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The flag was flying proudly above Randwick Town Hall from Friday 14 Feb to Sunday 2 Mar 2025.
In 2022, the progressive pride flag was raised for the first time by Mayor Dylan Parker.

In house
Randwick City Council also promotes inclusivity and diversity in house e.g., staff training opportunities such as the Twenty10’s Prism LGBTIQA+ Training and employees can include pronouns in their email signatures.
