Council Support & Opportunities

We're committed to building a dynamic live music scene – supporting venues to platform local talent, building new opportunities for musicians or connecting community with our local sounds. Our work includes:

• Randwick Arts Network: fostering creative connection, our network platforms artists to showcase their practice and supports skills expansion with workshops, conversation series and networking.
• Summer Music Sounds: igniting our suburbs with the sound of music, Summer Music Sounds provides paid opportunities for musicians while providing free local music for our community all summer long.
• Subsidised Studio Space: supporting audio recording and production, our Studio Space at Lionel Bowen Library is equipped with instruments and technology all at discounted rates.
• Community Creative Investment Program: investing in the growth of creativity within our local area, this funding round provides up to $10,000 for sole traders and $20,000 for groups. With three rounds per year, successful recipients have presented concerts, produced albums, delivered workshops and more.

Complete the short survey and your venue will be listed online, available for local musicians to connect and build a thriving local and live music scene.

• Sound NSW: dedicated to the growth, development and promotion of contemporary music in NSW, Sound NSW have a breadth of resources including funding, initiatives and a contemporary music strategy launched in 2024.
• Music NSW Resources: from best practice guides to masterclasses and industry directories, Music NSW have extensive resources to take advantage of.
• Music NSW Funding Calendar: covering cultural trusts, government funding, foundations and more – the funding calendar covers a broad selection of funding available across the country.
• ArtsHub Australia Music: featuring the latest news, job opportunities, funding and more, ArtsHub includes the latest news and opportunities throughout the nation.

• In the navigation bar (below) select Filter and + Add condition
• In the first box click on the down arrow and select Please choose the category (at the bottom of the list).
• In the last box – Select the Music option – click on the down arrow and select the category.
• Click outside the box to finish.
