Christmas Day rubbish collection

Due to early waste transfer station closure on Christmas Day, garbage and recycling bin collection will commence one hour earlier (5am instead of 6am) in all zones scheduled for collection on Tuesday 25 December 2018.

Licence of community land - Coogee Beach Volleyball Association

Under section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993 Council proposes to grant a licence in respect of Crown Land classified as “Community land” as set out below:

Community Land:
Property known as the volleyball courts and storage box located within Dunningham Reserve on the northern side of Coogee Beach.
The improvements comprise of 5 sand volleyball courts and a storage box.

Term of proposed Licence:
Commences 9 July 2018 and terminates 8 July 2021.

Proposed Licensees:
Coogee Beach Volleyball Association.

Purpose of proposed License:
The premises shall be occupied by the Licensee for the playing of organised volleyball games during approved hours of operation.

Licence of community land - Surfing NSW Inc

Under section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993 Council proposes to grant a licence in respect of Crown Land classified as “Community land” as set out below:

Community Land:
Property known as Level 1 & Part of Ground Floor Maroubra Beach Pavilion, being part of Arthur Byrne Reserve No. 500382 (Lot 613 DP 752015).

Term of proposed Licence:
Commences 26 October 2018 and terminates 25 October 2021.

Proposed Licensee:
Surfing NSW Inc.

Purpose of proposed License:
Administrative Office and Training.

Licence of community land - Australian Posters Pty Ltd.

Under section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993 Council proposes to grant a licence in respect of Crown Land classified as “Community land” as set out below:

Community Land: 
Property known as the two billboards located on the Clovelly Road frontage of the Randwick Literary Institute at 47A Market Street, Randwick. The improvements comprise of 2 billboards.

Term of proposed Licence:
Commences 1 January 2019 and terminates 31 December 2019.

Proposed Licensees:
Australian Posters Pty Ltd.

Purpose of proposed License:
The site shall be used by the Licensee for the placement of two advertising billboards.

Term of proposed Licence:
Commences 1 September 2018 and terminates 31 August 2019.

Eastern Suburbs Tennis Association Inc.

Purpose of proposed License:
The site shall be used by the Licensee for the operation of an indoor sports centre.

Term of proposed Licence:
Commences 1 January 2019 and terminates 31 December 2021.

Proposed Licensees:
Wylies Baths Trust Inc.

Purpose of proposed License:
The site shall be used by the Licensee for the use as Public Baths, kiosk and caretaker’s residence and holding of functions.

Munda Street Reserve, Randwick, declared an alcohol prohibited area from sunset to sunrise

16 November 2018

Council, at its meeting held 10 October 2018, resolved to make Munda Street Reserve an Alcohol Prohibited Area from Sunset to Sunrise. After a 30 day notification period signs will be installed to inform park users.

The community is informed that Alcohol Prohibited areas are established and operate under Section 632A of the NSW Local Government Act. The area in question is known as Munda Street Reserve and is outlined on the map below.

The proposed changes will be advertised in the Southern courier. Letters will be sent to the Local Area Command, Anti-Discrimination Board and the Aboriginal Land Council.

Public comment may be made on the subject “Munda St Reserve” online through our contact us form or by email to Council@randwick.nsw.gov.au . Alternatively mail submissions to the Admin building, 30 Frances St, Randwick 2031.

Submissions will close on the 17 December 2018.
