Randwick City Council provides a variety of programs and events to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
Koojay Corroboree
Randwick City Council hosts the annual Koojay Corroboree on the sands of Coogee Beach. This free event celebrates National Reconciliation Week and features a traditional Corroboree with Aboriginal songs and dancing as well as cultural displays, workshops and a marketplace. The event is aimed at increasing the understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage and to encourage Australians to Learn Share Grow.

Elders Olympics
The Elders Olympics provides Elders with an opportunity to enjoy and participate in sport and recreational activities that promote good health and an active lifestyle. The event recognises the significant contribution Elders make to their communities and promotes the benefits of exercise for both the body and mind.
There are five Sydney-based teams from Redfern Aboriginal Medical Centre, Wyanga Aboriginal Aged Care, Guriwal Aboriginal Corporation, Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation and Kinchela Boys Home, that participate in Elders Olympics.
Sea Place on Country
Sea Place on Country program celebrates Aboriginal stories and connection to ocean. The multidisciplinary program includes a documentary on the La Perouse mullet run and a large-scale outdoor light sculpture installation on the La Perouse headland.
NAIDOC in the Park
NAIDOC in the Park is held in partnership with Centennial Parklands, Waverley Council, and Randwick City Council to celebrate NAIDOC Week. NAIDOC in the Park is held at Centennial Park each year. It is an opportunity to learn and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
NAIDOC at Yarra Bay Sailing Club
NAIDOC at Yarra Bay Sailing Club is held during NAIDOC Week at Yarra Bay Sailing Club. This family-friendly event features live music, entertainment, activities, and a variety of food and drinks. It’s a chance for everyone to come together and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
