Coogee Shared Space

Queens Park Pedestrian and Cycle Pathway

Centennial Parklands is one of the most popular public spaces in Sydney, with over 31 million visitors each year. We also provide safe and accessible shared pathways around the Parklands connecting users with surrounding regional cycling networks. An important ‘missing link’ in this regional active transport network is Darley Road between Carrington and York Roads from the eastern suburbs of Waverley, Bronte and Clovelly west to Queens Park, Centennial Park and the city beyond. The pathway will significantly improve safety for children, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists along Darley Road between Carrington and York Roads.

Kensington Centennial Park Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan

Council has just completed the draft Kensington Centennial Park Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan to assess a variety of management approaches we can take to reduce the impact of flooding on residents in the catchment area. This study has been revised to include the light rail development and the new rainfall data standard. This follows on from our 2013 Flood Study which determined the behaviour and extent of flooding in the Kensington Centennial Park catchment.

Dudley Street Heritage Conservation Area Planning Proposal

The proposal is to extend the heritage conservation area boundary to incorporate 38, 40, 42, 44 and 46 Dudley Street and 122 Mount Street Coogee, and to list 38, 42, and 44 Dudley Street and 122 Mount Street, Coogee as local heritage items. The planning proposal is intended to protect and conserve these buildings that have been identified by heritage studies as having heritage significance and/or contributing to the heritage significance of the local area.
