Check a property for outstanding issues

If you're concerned there may be Council issues with a particular property, you can apply to Council for an Outstanding Notices Certificate.

What is an Outstanding Notices Certificate?

An Outstanding Notices Certificate lists any current or outstanding notices and orders issued by Council in respect of a particular property.

The provisions are contained in section 735A of the Local Government Act 1993 and clause 41 of Schedule 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (formerly section 121ZP).

When to apply

You may apply for an Outstanding Notices Certificate at any time, but a certificate is most often needed before property settlement.

The fee is set out in the Health Building & Regulatory Services section of Council's Fees and Charges, and the Certificate will take approximately 3 working days to process.
