Active Transport Plan

Our vision for active transport in Randwick City is that:

“Everyone should be able to safely and easily choose to walk or bike more often when moving about, getting daily exercise, enjoying fun and healthy lives and accessing public transport.”

The Active Transport Plan sets out a clear pathway for delivering this vision by providing the right infrastructure for people of all ages and abilities to walk and ride around our City safely and easily. The Active Transport Plan includes the following documents:

The Active Transport Plan provides a high-level overview of Council’s vision and objectives for walking and cycling in Randwick City. It includes the overarching guiding principles and the strategic approaches in delivering the six outcomes for active transport:

Active Transport Plan - Walking and Cycling

The Active Transport Plan - Walking and Cycling provides the detailed delivery plan outlining how Council will deliver the outcomes and objectives for walking, cycling and active travel to school in Randwick City. It includes a series of strategic approaches, associated with the six outcomes, and details specific actions that Council can take to realise our vision for active transport.

The Active Transport Plan - Walking and Cycling also identifies strategic priority areas and bicycle routes. This includes the Walking Improvement Areas - clusters of shops, schools and public transport - where walking improvements are to be prioritised. It also includes the Cycling Network Plan, which identifies the strategic bicycle route connections to link our key destinations with the current cycling network and to destinations in our neighbouring Councils.
