Sydney Library of Things

Sydney Library of Things – Now Open in Randwick!

Borrow instead of buying. Share instead of wasting.

Have you ever needed a drill for a quick DIY project, a pasta maker for a dinner party, or camping gear for a weekend getaway—but didn’t want to buy something you'd only use once?

The Sydney Library of Things is here to help! Now open at the Randwick Sustainability Hub, this fantastic new service allows you to borrow practical items instead of buying them—saving money, reducing waste, and supporting a more connected community.

From gardening tools and power drills to sewing machines, sports gear, musical instruments, party supplies, and more, the Library of Things offers a wide selection of handy items for everyday needs and special occasions.

The Sydney Library of Things operates just like a traditional library—but with things instead of books!

  • Browse the collection online
  • Reserve the item you need
  • Collect and return on Saturdays, 9am–12pm
  • Use it, enjoy it, return it

Memberships start at just $30 for three months. Not sure what you’d borrow? Simply browse the online catalogue before signing up.

The Randwick branch of the Sydney Library of Things is proudly supported by Randwick City Council and run by an independent, not-for-profit organisation.

Together, we aim to:

  • Reduce overconsumption and landfill waste
  • Promote the sharing economy
  • Strengthen local community connections

By borrowing instead of buying, we can all play a part in building a more sustainable future.
