Giles Baths

Giles Baths are located at the foot of the northern headland of Coogee Beach. It’s a natural rock pool known as the 'bogey hole' and was used by male bathers in the nineteenth century. It continues to be used today by families and friends of all ages.

Gordons Bay is a secluded oasis, hidden north of Coogee Beach and south of Clovelly Beach. It can only be accessed via the Coastal Walkway and parking is available at either Coogee or Clovelly Beach.

Ivo Rowe Rockpool

The Ivo Rowe Rockpool is one of the smallest ocean pools along the Coastal Walkway. It is a natural, shallow rock pool and perfect for wading or cooling down on a hot day. Be careful as the rocks in and around the pool may be slippery. The best access to the rock pool by car is via Bunya Parade in South Coogee. It is an easy two kilometre walk south of Coogee Beach via the Coastal Walkway.

La Perouse is a very popular summer destination. There are a range of stunning bay beaches to choose from including Congwong Beach, Little Congwong Beach and Frenchmans Bay. The beaches are generally calm and good swimming beaches. The Botany Bay National Park adjoins the area and there are stunning coastal walks around the La Perouse headland.

Little Bay Beachside Area

One of Randwick City’s last undiscovered jewels, Little Bay is a beautiful coastal location and less busy than its popular neighbours Maroubra Beach and Coogee Beach. The area is nestled between Randwick Golf Club to the north and The Coast Golf Club to the south. The beach is protected and is generally very calm making it an ideal swimming spot for families or for snorkelling on a summer’s day. Nearby is the Prince Henry Centre which includes a café.

Little Congwong Beach

Little Congwong Beach, as its name suggests, is the smaller brother of Congwong Beach and is located within the Botany Bay National Park. It is a more secluded beach and access is via a short walk continuing past Congwong Beach.

Mahon Pool

The Mahon rock pool is located to the north of Maroubra Beach at the base of Jack Vanny Reserve. The exposed rock outcrops and cliffs above it make it a spectacular venue. Steep steps lead down to the ocean pool from a car park on Marine Parade. There is a toilet block, showers and change rooms on the cliff overlooking the pool.

Maroubra Beach

The word 'Maroubra' comes from an Aboriginal word meaning 'like thunder' - an apt description of the sound of the waves pounding on the shoreline. These waves have made Maroubra one of the most popular surfing locations in Sydney and Australia's second only National Surfing Reserve. The beach is popular with visitors given its easy access and large kilometre-long expanse of sand. It is patrolled all year by Council lifeguards, and by two surf lifesaving clubs on weekends and school holidays during daylight saving months.

Maroubra Beachside Area
Marine Parade, Maroubra
Maroubra is best known for its kilometre-long sandy foreshore, good breaks and relaxed beachside vibe. It’s one of Sydney’s most popular surf beaches and was the first declared surfing reserve in NSW. It’s patrolled year-round by Council Lifegards and patrolled during daylight saving months by the Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club and South Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club. There’s plenty to do with a playground, skatepark, outdoor gym and large reserves with barbecues and picnic tables. A large, free car park is adjacent to the beach and the Coastal Walkway runs along the beach promenade.

McIvers Baths

McIver's Baths are perched on a cliff face and rock platform between Coogee Beach and Wylie’s Baths. The baths are for women and children only and are relatively well screened from the surrounding area. Steps lead from Grant Reserve down the cliff to the pool and visitors are rewarded with magnificent oceans views.

Ross Jones Memorial Pool

The Ross Jones Memorial Pool was built in 1947. It is located next to Coogee Surf Life Saving Club at the south end of Coogee Beach. Waves from Coogee Beach spill over the concrete walls of the baths during high tide and rough seas. The pool is popular with families and children.

The Geoff James Pool (Clovelly Ocean Pool)

The Clovelly Ocean Pool is located directly adjacent to Clovelly Beach on the southern side of the concrete promenade. It is a salt water pool with four lanes ideal for lap swimmers. The pool is regularly cleaned and maintained. Lifeguards and lifesavers are on duty at Clovelly Beach during daylight saving months. There are toilet, shower and café facilities located nearby. The best parking is the large Clovelly Beach car park on the southern side of the bay.

Wylies Baths

CLOSED Wylie's Baths is one of Sydney’s most recognisable and beautiful ocean tidal pools. It is located a few hundred metres south of Coogee Beach, sitting right below the magnificent Coastal Walkway. The Baths have a sweeping 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean and they overlook the famous Wedding Cake Island. Visitors regularly come to Wylie's to enjoy a casual dip, to swim some laps in the 50 yard pool, soak up some rays or to enjoy a sandwich, coffee or refreshments at the kiosk. They also have onsite massages, yoga, pilates and tai chi classes. The kiosk sells swimming accessories and a range of official Wylie's merchandise. Wylie's also caters for wedding receptions. Yarra Bay Beach

Yarra Bay Beach is located on the northern side of Botany Bay in the suburb of Phillip Bay, approximately seven kilometres south of the centre of Sydney. The bay has a south-westerly orientation, making it unique among Sydney beaches. The southern boundary of Yarra Bay is defined by Yarra Point, Bumborah Point forms the northern limit.

Yarra Bay includes Yarra Bay Beach, Bicentennial Park and Yarra Oval. The sheltered beach and large park is an idyllic spot for a picnic or a swim and is usually quieter than nearby La Perouse. There’s a sailing club located on the beach and public toilets in the park.
