Thousands of Sydneysiders are expected to attend the 2024 Spot Festival in Randwick, which will mark the end of a week-long celebration of cultural diversity.

The Spot Festival, which will be on Sunday 24 March, the last day of Harmony Week, will bring together people from different backgrounds across Sydney for an afternoon of food, live music, and cultural performances.

There will be two stages at the event featuring various musicians and performers including breakdancers, local school performances, and the Víctor Valdes Mariachi Band who will be headlining the Harmony stage on Perouse Road.

Festivalgoers can also enjoy more than 35 stalls. There will be businesses selling art, crafts, jewellery, homewares, and a range of food – from Japanese pizza and Chinese dumplings, to Turkish gozleme and Spanish paella.

Randwick City Mayor Philipa Veitch said: “The Spot Festival will be a feast for the senses with the huge variety of food on offer and so many talented artists, musicians, and performers on stage.

“In addition to all the fantastic food stalls, people can also dine at one of the many local restaurants at the Spot.”

Other key highlights of this year’s festival include a chicken wing eating competition and a water-filled dunking tank event, which Mayor Veitch will participate in to raise money for Coogee-based charity Running for Premature Babies.

“The Spot Festival at Randwick is the biggest free outdoor festival in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, and every year it just gets bigger and better,” Mayor Veitch said.

“We’re expecting thousands of people – residents in Sydney’s east as well as people from Greater Sydney – to attend the festival, which is all about celebrating our wonderful cultural diversity.”

The 2024 Spot Festival will be held on Sunday 24 March, from 1pm until 8pm, at the intersection of St Pauls Street and Perouse Road, Randwick.
