Beachside parks around Coogee, Clovelly, Maroubra, Little Bay, Malabar and La Perouse are alcohol-free this 2023-24 summer season.
The restrictions have been in the days around Christmas, New Year's Eve and Australia Day for a number of years to increase public safety and to reduce the potential for alcohol-related violence.
Eastern Beaches Local Area Command and Randwick City Rangers will have an increased presence over summer to keep our beaches and town centres safe and inviting for everybody to use.
The alcohol restrictions for Bundock Park - Clovelly, Jack Vanny Reserve - Maroubra, Arthur Byrne Reserve - Maroubra Cromwell Park - Malabar, Yarra Bay Bicentennial Park - Phillip Bay, and Gwea Reserve -Yarra Bay apply:
- 8pm on 22 December 2023, ceasing at 6am on 3 January 2024, and
- from 8pm on 25 January 2024, ceasing at 6am on 29 January 2024
All Randwick City beaches are permanently alcohol-free. Any adjacent beachside reserve not listed above is subject to a permanent total alcohol prohibition.
If in doubt, check the signage located at Randwick LGA parks and reserves.
