At least 12,000 people are expected to attend a beachside dawn service at Coogee for Anzac Day on Thursday 25 April 2024.

The event, which begins at 5.30am at Goldstein Reserve, will include a wreath laying ceremony, the Last Post bugle call, a minute’s silence, and singing of the New Zealand anthem and Australian anthems in English and in Dharawal language.

Randwick Mayor Philipa Veitch said: “Join us on Thursday to remember and pay tribute to our ANZACs – and all our servicemen and servicewomen, both past and present, who have sacrificed so much for our nation.”

Bondi Brass Band, South Coogee Public School Choir, and local performer Michael Kopp will perform at the Dawn Service, along with anthem singers Brendon Hui, Amber Lawrence and Cianna Walker.

Randwick City Council’s Anzac Day Dawn Service is a free event and is delivered in collaboration with the Coogee Randwick Clovelly RSL sub-branch who are the ceremonial custodians of the service.

The service will also be livestreamed on Randwick Council's Facebook page.

Following the Dawn Service, there will be live music from 7.15am – 12noon at the Coogee Beach Rainbow Walkway.

A number of local businesses at Coogee will be open for food and coffee on Thursday 25 April with some trading from 4am.
