400x300 Council reopening

This lockdown hasn’t been easy on anyone and as a Council, we’ve missed offering you our services just as much as you’ve missed using them! As the population edges towards being 70% vaccinated, we’re making plans so that we can open again as soon as we can. We’ll be updating you on the COVID restrictions we need to put in place as we work through them for each location. But for now, here’s some news we thought you might look forward to:

Libraries
From Monday 27 September, you’ll be able to reserve up to 10 items via the library app with a click-and-collect service commencing Tuesday 5 October. Any face-to-face services are unable to be offered until restrictions are eased further. More information can be found here.

DRLC
We’re hoping to open the outdoor pool from Monday 27 September. DRLC is currently working on a COVID safety plan that will likely limit the amount of people in lanes and in the pool at anyone time. More information to follow.

Recycling Centre & Nursery
Our teams at the recycling centre and nursery are working on COVID-safe plans to allow us to offer these services within the current restrictions in a safe way to our residents.

Customer Service Centre
Our customer service centre is currently closed for face-to-face service. However, our staff are diligently manning phones and emails. Please call or email us with your questions.

Outdoor BBQs
Our outdoor bbqs are all up and running. Please be considerate of others and social distance when using the bbqs. We recommend you give them a clean before and after your personal use. Council staff thoroughly clean them each morning.

Pop-up pedal parks
Our outdoor pop-up pedal parks in Clovelly and Chifley will remain open until Monday 5 October. We have loved offering these to the community as an activity to keep kids busy during lockdown.

Lights on at sports fields
We’ve been keeping lights on until 9pm at many of our sports fields. This allows more time for exercise during lockdown. They’ll stay on until 9pm until further notice. Find out which parks here.
