Mayor D'Souza at Randwick Racecourse

Randwick City Council and the Australian Turf Club have partnered up once again to host the annual Community Race Day at Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday, 19 August from 11am.

With free entry for Randwick residents and ratepayers, this family friendly event will feature a nine race line-up including the Randwick Mayor’s Cup, and will also feature Winx, who was inducted in the Australian racing’s Hall of Fame earlier this year.

Off the track, there will be a host of free family activities and entertainment to enjoy including a Peppa Pig, face painting, pony rides, petting zoo, a jumping castle and much more.

Mayor of Randwick, Noel D’Souza, says the Council and the Australian Turf Club are proud to offer a family-friendly day at Royal Randwick free for the community.

"Royal Randwick has a rich history in our area that dates back 150 years. It's a landmark location, attracting visitors to our area and contributing significantly to our local and national economy.

“This annual Community Race Day offers locals of all ages the chance to visit free of charge one of Australia’s most famous sporting destinations.

“I’m especially excited to be trackside to award the Randwick Mayor’s Cup for the second year. We hope the Community Race Day will be a free, fun event the community can look forward to each year,” said Mayor D’Souza.
