With Sydney Water inspecting and maintaining wastewater pipes in the Randwick City area over the next 12 months, residents may notice extra truck movements during the work.
The work will improve the wastewater system and protect public health and the environment.
Most of the work will be done during the day between 7 am and 5 pm. However, some work needs to be done at night between 9 pm and 5 am.
This is when the wastewater flows are at their lowest, and will minimise disruptions to traffic and local business. There will be no planned work on Sundays or public holidays.
The work will involve:
- opening and access maintenance holes
- inspecting maintenance holes and wastewater pipes using closed circuit television
- clearing tree roots and cleaning wastewater pipes using high pressure water
- raising maintenance holes.
