Maselli Films was awarded the Randwick Council Creative Grant to make the short film Ocean is She.

Shot around Maroubra and Malabar, the film champions young local surfers with a spotlight on female participation. When a night surf goes wrong, popular teenager Radha encourages her younger sister back in the water. 

Written, directed, produced by Gabriella Maselli McGrail with female DOP and Editor Sabina Maselli and Water DOPs Adrian Emerton and Ashlea Hingston. Project fuses realism with surreal imagery to capture emotion and sacredness of local coastal landscape.
