Request for an arrangement to pay Rates 

We understand that our customers experience financial difficulty at times making it hard to pay Rate instalments by the due dates.  While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact us all, Council encourages any regular payment you can afford – even if that amount is small.

Use the following form to apply for a payment arrangement for your Rate Account. You must be the owner of the property to make a request for a payment arrangement. We are flexible and generally accept the requests we receive.

We will get back to you in writing to confirm and to explain the payment arrangement conditions.

You are welcome to pay any amount you can afford while you wait to hear from us as any payment you make now will reduce any amount of future interest.

Council recovers monies owed to it in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993, Regulations 2005 and its Debt Recovery and Financial Hardship Policy. While we encourage and prefer payment arrangements over legal action, Council is not obliged to accept any request for payment arrangement.  Each customer’s payment history will be considered in the evaluation of each request, although do not let your past history deter you from applying for a payment arrangement now.
