Eight new Councillors and a majority female Council likely for Randwick City

Randwick Council is preparing to welcome a majority female line up in the next Council term with current results for the Local Government election, held on December 4, revealing that there may be eight new and seven returning Councillors.

Based on these results, the Council, which will serve a three-year term from 2021-24, will be made up of five Labor, five Liberal, four Greens and one Independent candidate and will have a majority (8) female representation for the first time in its history. This is up from five female Councillors in the previous term.

Randwick Council is scheduled to elect a Mayor and Deputy Mayor at their first meeting on Thursday 30 December 2021 at 6pm.

The following Councillors have been elected according to the election results published on the NSW Electoral Commission website on Tuesday 21 December. Final declarations have yet to be issued for all Wards and are pending a recount request for two Wards. This request is currently being considered by the Electoral Commissioner.
