Mayor of Randwick City, Kathy Neilson, expressed her heartfelt condolences for the Muslim victims of the shooting attack in Christchurch on Friday 15 March.

“Such senseless violence has no place in our community and I condemn these attacks outright,” she said.

“I’m devastated for the people who may no longer feel safe to worship in the way they choose, where they choose. My hope is that a sense of safety is soon returned to them. On behalf of Randwick City I want to express our heartbreak for the families and friends who have lost loved ones, and convey our unwavering support and solidarity for the Muslim community within Randwick City.

“Our thoughts, too, are with the people of Christchurch and all New Zealanders as they start the process of healing. We stand with them in advocating for peace and unity.”
