Randwick City Council is marking National Tree Day with free planting kits for residents of Randwick City.

Kits will be available to residents on Sunday 30 July 2017 between 9am and 12pm at Council’s Community Nursery in Kingsford, which will also be throwing open its doors for the occasion.

Kits consist of 2-3 native tube stock, a plastic trowel, one pair of adult gardening gloves and one pair of kid’s gardening gloves.

“Randwick City Council is passionate about our community and protecting the environment. This event is a marvellous opportunity for friends and family to take home their own trees and to come together to plant the seeds for the green spaces of our future.

“The Randwick Community Nursery is one of Sydney’s leading providers in indigenous plants, and is unique in that it offers plants native to the eastern suburbs, meaning these plants will thrive in their new homes,” Mayor D’Souza said.

Kits are limited to one per person and run on a first come, first served basis.

Randwick Community Nursery is at 2B Barker Street, Kingsford
