Step Out Speak Out on Friday 21 November raises awareness about domestic violence and asks everyone to stand up and say no to domestic violence. Everyone is welcome to join the walk.
Taking steps to end domestic violence
The Step Out Speak Out Walk raises awareness about domestic violence and asks everyone to stand up and say no to domestic violence. The annual Walk is organised by NSW Police Eastern Beaches Local Area Command and Randwick City Council with support from The Juniors.
Event route
We recommend arriving from 7:00am at High Cross Park (corner of Avoca Street and Belmore Road, Randwick), where participants will form up on Belmore Road and depart at 7.30am down Coogee Bay Road towards Coogee Beach, and then head South along the promenade to finish at Grant Reserve, South Coogee.
At Grant Reserve, participants will hear speeches from local high school students, the Mayor of Randwick and NSW Police before enjoying a free BBQ breakfast and coffee kindly supported by the South Sydney Juniors, finishing by 9am.
Getting there
We strongly suggest walking, public transport cycling or ride share to the event.
If you need to drive, we suggest paid parking at the Dolphin Street Car Park near the Coogee Pavilion.
A free courtesy bus will operate from Dolphin Street car park up to High Cross Park between 6.30am with the last departure just after 7:00am.
For anyone parking near the start of the walk (street parking available on surrounding streets), after the event there will be a free courtesy bus from Grant reserve back up to High Cross Park from approximately 9am – 9.30am.
Event partners
The Step Out Speak Out Walk is a partnership between Randwick City Council and the Eastern Beaches Local Area Command. We are proud to be supported by a number of local organisations and thank them for their generosity.
