Ruby Blinkhorn
Cadaver Synod

The act of writing is rewriting: a cyclical process of uncovering, unpicking, finding and reconstructing. During this residency, Ruby has rewritten a draft of her play Cadaver Synod, a sexed-up Vatican tragedy set in Rome, 897 AD. This exhibition showcases a selection of excerpts from the play and physical materials that document the writing process.

Luanne Mitchelmore
Home Ground

During the residency, Luanne has continued her exploration of the old fibro and weatherboard houses of regional towns, while also turning her attention to the familiar streets and scenes of her daily life. Her work reflects on how everyday architecture shapes a sense of place and community, carrying quiet traces of memory, beauty and change.

Sepa Sama
You Never Walk Alone

During his Barrett House residency, Sepa Sama shifted from developing a book to making a collaborative film with artist Bibi Soleimani. Filmed along the Randwick LGA coast, You Never Walk Alone explores walking as a poetic act of listening — transforming his book-based research into movement, image, and shared reflection.

Barret House Studios exhibition is the culmination of three months work for our resident artists. Immerse yourself in their three studio spaces for this exhibition. Space Barrett House facilitates fully subsidised three-month residencies for multidisciplinary artists, supported by Randwick City Council's Arts & Culture Team. Ruby, Luanne and Sepa  have been in residence at Barrett House as part of our Creative Space Barrett House initiative providing space for artists to develop their practice within a free micro-residency.
