Historic Council minutes
Council records from the past
Access the earliest records of Randwick Council from 1859 to 2001 via Randwick City Library’s Local History subsite Our Story.
The Randwick Minute Books stand as a record of the decisions made by the elected officials for one of the oldest local government areas in Sydney. They record the business decisions for every year of Randwick City Council's existence since 1859. This a digital collection replicating the original minute books series, to enable ease of access to the original materials, whilst conserving the original volumes.
The Minutes from the first meeting in April 1859 to April 1911 are handwritten and from May 1912 are typed or printed until 2001. The volumes are digitised and are available for access. The typed minutes have been OCR enabled and the text is searchable.
From 2002 onwards the business papers and minutes of Council were born digital and are accessible via the Business Papers and Minutes page.
