In honour of International Women’s Day, Randwick City Council presents the Women’s Art Prize, an annual award showcasing the creative talent of women and girls.

On Sunday 8 March, visit the prize and drop into some hands on workshops celebrating the significant contribution women make to the cultural landscape of Randwick.

About this workshop

Join Malima in an Aboriginal weaving workshop where you will learn Traditional Aboriginal Weaving techniques.

Guided by Dharawal women from the La Perouse Aboriginal community, whose cultural connections to coastal Sydney and Botany Bay bring authenticity and meaning to every workshop.

The weaving workshop offers a space for connection, learning, and honoring the deep relationship between people, land, and tradition.

Whether you are new to weaving or have experience, this workshop is an invitation to slow down, weave with purpose, and immerse yourself in Aboriginal culture.
