The winners of the 2023 Randwick Architecture and Urban Design Awards were announced last night on Wednesday 29 March at a ceremony at the Prince Henry Centre, Little Bay.
Now in its ninth iteration, the biennial Awards are one of Randwick City Council’s key urban design initiatives as the competition aims to celebrate exceptional design in our built environment.
“It’s wonderful to celebrate the designs and buildings that make Randwick City such a beautiful, sustainable and liveable place,” said Randwick Mayor Dylan Parker.
The Awards recognise design excellence and aim to inspire better building design. They promote community awareness about urban design and architecture and recognise the talent of the architects and designers involved in enhancing Randwick City’s built environment.
“As the popularity of the Awards has grown, Council is also excited to add two new categories to this year’s Awards: Best Sustainable Design, which recognises outstanding achievement in environmentally sustainable design and the UNSW Student Design Award, which celebrates the coursework and concept designs created by the urban designers of our future,” said Mayor Parker.
