Randwick City Council’s General Manager Therese Manns resigned on October 10 2022, after four years in the position.

“It is with great regret that I have received the resignation of our General Manager, Ms Therese Manns. On behalf of Councillors, staff and the entire community, I would like to express my deep thanks and appreciation for Therese’s tremendous work and significant achievements over the last four years,” said Councillor Dylan Parker, Mayor of Randwick.

Ms Manns began her career at Randwick Council in November 2018. Prior to which she held the position of Director of Corporate Services at Sutherland Shire Council.

Over the past four years with Ms Manns at the helm, Randwick Council reset its strategic direction as a standalone Council following the unsuccessful merger attempt of local government areas. She introduced Council’s award-winning FOGO (Food Organics and Garden Organics) waste collection service, and delivered a capital delivery program of record level for the LGA.

Ms Manns leadership saw Council through a period of unprecedented challenges, including a once in 100-year pandemic. Through it all, Ms Manns fostered a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

“I am really proud of having had the opportunity to lead a genuinely committed workforce, who work every day to ensure quality services here in Randwick. Council continues to be a leader in the industry through the staff’s agility, compassion, dedication, care and innovative spirit. All characteristics that were extremely important as we worked through the pandemic. I am grateful to have been a part of the many achievements over the past four years. I wish Council, the staff and the community all the very best for the future. I am sure it will continue to be bright,” said Ms Manns.

Randwick Council staff and Councillors wish Ms Manns well and are confident that her vision, leadership, and professionalism will be greatly valued as she takes the next step in her career.

“On a personal level, I have benefited greatly from Therese’s sage counsel and assistance over the years in my role as Councillor and Mayor, in working towards improving our community. She leaves an enormous legacy that I am confident the community can be proud of.

“On behalf of the entire Randwick community, I’d like to convey my heartfelt appreciation for Therese’s service and offer my best wishes for her next exciting endeavour. Ms Manns will share her plans going forward in the coming weeks,” said Mayor Parker.
