QR codes and hand sanitiser at playgrounds and outdoor gyms

QR codes and hand sanitiser will be installed at all Randwick Council playgrounds, outdoor gyms and skate parks from Friday 27 August 2021 to allow residents to check in and out, Randwick Mayor Danny Said announced today.
Under current Public Health Orders these outdoor sites are allowed to be open and available for community use for exercise and recreation.
Checking in to these outdoor facilities enables NSW Health to quickly notify people should a confirmed COVID-19 case attend the location while possibly still infectious.
“The combination of lockdown and home schooling has highlighted just how important our playgrounds and outdoor gyms are for so many of us,” explained Mayor Danny Said.
“Having access to areas that allow us time outside, in the fresh air, and that encourage play and physical activity is a lifeline for some and we’re keen to keep these spaces safe and open for as long as we can.
The QR codes and sanitiser are being installed at more than 67 locations across Randwick City including at outdoor gyms, playgrounds, skateparks, and the Heffron Pedal Park.
