A new staircase to the Ivo Rowe Rockpool, nestled in South Coogee along the Coastal Walkway, is almost complete.

The new staircase has been constructed to improve safety and accessibility to the rockpool located at 1R Bunya Parade, South Coogee. It replaces a concrete, rocky pathway, and is constructed of fibre reinforced polymer minimesh and stainless steel to protect it from the harsh coastal elements.

Design and construction of the new staircase began mid-2024. The rockpool will reopen on Monday 21 October 2024 once the new staircase is completed.

The Ivo Rowe Rockpool is a shallow, natural rockpool and one of the smallest ocean pools along the Coastal Walkway.
