Library Membership

The library offers the following membership categories:

  • General Membership
    • Junior membership, 0-11 years
    • Young adult  membership, 12-17 years
    • Adult Membership,  18-59
    • Senior membership, 60+ years
  • Toy and Game Library membership (18+years)
  • Digital Membership (16+years)
  • Home Library Service Membership

Conditions of Membership

All conditions of Membership are in accordance with Library Regulation 2018 and the NSW Library Act 1939

Library members will:

  • Accept responsibility for all items borrowed on their account and ensure items are returned on or before the date items are due, as late return of items may result in suspension.
  • As a parent or guardian accept responsibility for all items borrowed on the account/s of those in their care.
  • Agree to accept any fees incurred for lost or damaged items, reservation fees, and other relevant fees as set out in the library's fees and charges.
  • Advise the library if your borrower's card is lost, or of any change of details such as name, address, phone number or email address.
  • Be considerate, polite and respectful to staff and other members of the public when visiting the library or attending events both within the library and online.
  • Accept that children under the age of 12 must be supervised by a reasonable person who is 16 years or older. Supervision requires that the person be always within sight of the child.
  • Accept restriction of a child's access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
  • Abide by the Copyright Act 1968 when copying library materials and sharing materials online.

Requirements for membership

To  Join the Library you will need to supply  identity documents as proof of who you are.  To join the  Library as a general member or Toy & Game Library member, you will need any of the following:

  • NSW Drivers license
  • NSW Photo card
  • Utility bill (e.g., rates, water, gas, electricity, phone, internet)
  • Pensioner Concession Card (Services Australia/Aust Govt issued)
  • Health Care Card (Services Australia/Aust Govt issued)
  • Lease agreement
  • Bank statement

If you are signing up a Junior or YA member as  a parent or guardian, you will also need to supply  proof of this, eg a Medicare card.

Digital members  can supply ID without an address, eg a passport to access the library's services.

Toy and Game Library Terms and Conditions

By  Joining  the Toy and  Game Library you accept the Terms  and Conditions of use, and  agree to the Fees  and Charges.

Acceptance

By submitting your application to join the library you agree to accept and abide by our Conditions of Membership.

I accept

To complete your membership, pop into a library location with proof of name and current address - or submit it online. Borrower's cards are available in our libraries or go card-free with the Randwick City Library app.

There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 16 years require consent from their parent or guardian.
