Bestsellers - a selection of current popular books, updated regularly to reflect retail book sales. Three-week loan, no renewals, no reserves.  If you have a popular book on reserve and you're super keen to read it, see if it's also a bestseller!

Hidden Gems - specially selected by library staff; including great reads and old favourites. Available at all three branches.

Winner's circle - a collection of literary prize winners. Only available at Lionel Bowen Library.

2026 Stella Prize

The Stella Prize celebrates the best book by an Australian woman, whether fiction or nonfiction, in the previous calendar year.

The winner for 2026 has been announced!

  • Cannon by Lee Lai (Graphic Novel)

This is Lee Lai's second book, and the first graphic novel to be awarded the Stella Prize.

2026 Booker Prizes

The Booker International Prize

The Booker International prize celebrates the best works of long-form fiction or collections of short stories translated into English and published in the UK and/or Ireland

The winner for 2026 has been announced!

Taiwan Travelogue is the first book translated from Mandarin Chinese to win the International Booker Prize.

2025 Miles Franklin Award

The Miles Franklin Award was established in 1957 by Stella Maria Sarah Miles Franklin, author of My Brilliant Career. Books nominated are those of a high literary merit, and present  stories about Australian life.
