Randwick City Library has a number of rooms for hire at the Lionel Bowen Library and Community Centre, Maroubra and the Margaret Martin Library, Randwick. Rooms range in capacity from 20–120 persons in a theatre, class room or meeting room arrangement, subject to current guidelines and restrictions as outlined by NSW Government.

Conditions of Hire

• Hire is subject to availability. Phone the Library on (02) 9093 6400 or complete the form below.
• A 10% booking cancellation fee applies. Cancellation fees of ‘full cost of hire’ apply for cancellations within 7 days prior to the booked date.
• Rooms are only available for hire on weekdays within Library hours.
• Set up and pack up times must be included in your hire time.
• Council events take priority.
• Commercial/Private rates: Commercial/Private is defined as a group, organisation or person that charges an entry fee or a participation charge, or the hiring of the venue is for a private function. Also relates to any booking that competes with local business.
• Non-Commercial rates: Non-Commercial is defined as a group, non-profit or charity organisation or person that does not charge a cover charge. Parties claiming non-commercial rates must provide a Certificate of Endorsement as an Income Tax Exempt charitable entity from the Australian Tax Office or a copy of the entity's constitution including a not for profit clause.
• The hirer shall not hold Council responsible for the interruption or cancellation of bookings due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control (including any Force Majeure Event). Council will not be liable for any costs related whatsoever to the cancellation of a booking. Council reserves the right to withhold hiring of the venue if necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control (including any Force Majeure Event).

Room Hire at Lionel Bowen Library and Community Centre, Maroubra

Vonnie Young Auditorium

The auditorium is 86.4m² and has capacity for 50 persons in a theatre arrangement. Located on the 1st floor of the Lionel Bowen Library and Community Centre, Maroubra, the auditorium has kitchen facilities, lift access from the ground floor and a wheelchair accessible toilet.

Level 3 HACC Facility: Maroubra, Anzac and Gale Rooms

The HACC (Home and Community Care Group) Facility is located on level 3 of the Lionel Bowen Library and Community Centre, Maroubra. There is lift access to level 3 from the ground floor.

The facility can be hired out exclusively as The Maroubra Room with a maximum capacity of 120 persons in a theatre arrangement.

Other booking options include a large open room, roughly half of the facility space: The Anzac Room with a maximum seating capacity of 75 people. And smaller still, The Gale Room at approximately a quarter of the facility space, which seats a maximum of 12 people.

Randwick City Library offers special rates to HACC groups who currently hold a federal or state HACC grant.

HACC Facility – The Maroubra Room

This room is on level 3 of Lionel Bowen Library and Community Centre. It consists of the HACC facility space in its entirety: 124m² with room partitions removed to allow for a maximum capacity of 120 persons in a theatre arrangement. Hire includes chairs, tables, a white board, a projector and easy access to the kitchen.

HACC Facility – The Anzac Room

This room is approximately half of the HACC facility space (62m²) on level 3 of Lionel Bowen Library and Community Centre. It is on the left-hand side and seats a maximum of 75 people. Hire includes chairs, tables, a white board and easy access to the kitchen.

HACC Facility – The Gale Room

This room is approximately a quarter of the HACC facility space (30m²) on level 3 of Lionel Bowen Library and Community Centre. It seats a maximum of 12 people. Hire includes chairs, tables, a white board and easy access to the kitchen. A projector is available on request.

Room Hire at Margaret Martin Library, Randwick

The Margaret Martin Library, Randwick (formerly the Randwick Branch Library) has two rooms available for hire. The rooms may be hired together (pending availability) to allow for a maximum capacity of 60 persons in a theatre arrangement.

Margaret Martin Library Meeting Room 1

The Margaret Martin Library Meeting Room 1 is 41.9m² and has capacity for 30 persons in a theatre arrangement.

Margaret Martin Library Meeting Room 2

The Margaret Martin Library Meeting Room 2 is 46.6m² and has capacity for 30 persons in a theatre arrangement.
