City of Tomorrow 2019

7 July 2019 – 25 August 2019

Randwick City Library’s City of Tomorrow Exhibition encourages a smarter and more sustainable structure to living. The Exhibition’s goal was to inform young people of the need for sustainable infrastructure and get them thinking about their own global footprint.

Participants used physical and 3D modelling to create and plan out a sustainable city and its houses. They were tasked with breaking down a city to its key cultural architecture and trying to make it smarter and more sustainable.

Artist Andrew Christie headed the sessions in January and April at Margaret Martin Library. The groups produced 3D models with the Library’s own 3D printer. These models, along with their blueprints, drawings and physical models are now on exhibit at Lionel Bowen Library, Maroubra.
