Have a look at the many talented works by the multitude of painters and artists in Randwick City!
This is a tribute to the artist's spirit and their attempt to give courage for today's situation, spreading a positive light to all. Located in Lionel Bowen Library's Exhibition space, this special Randwick Art Society exhibition features over 30 original artworks by its members.
Randwick Art Society Inc (RAS) was founded in 2009 and is the first incorporated art society in the eastern suburbs. The Society has grown and developed over the past 11 years bringing together some very creative, gifted and diversified artists. Members produce artworks using watercolour, acrylic, oil, mixed media as well as a vast array of crafts. These talents have been regularly displayed for the public in many exhibitions within the community.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions RAS has had to adapt very quickly and in March 2020, they introduced “Sketch A Day” on their website. Members draw, paint, photograph items from a list and submit to the website. These works can be seen on the TV slide show here in the Library. Work has also been submitted to a Portrait Gallery and Craft Gallery.
