Learn to Swim Direct Debit FAQs
What are the benefits of a perpetual term and direct debit system?
Our perpetual Learn to Swim program means your child keeps their place year‑round with no need to re‑enrol each term. Lessons run for 48 weeks per year, supporting consistent weekly swimming, which helps children build confidence, improve skills, and maintain water safety progress without interruption. Payments are made fortnightly on Mondays, making fees easier to manage while ensuring your child never misses out on their lesson place.
Is there a break during the year?
Yes. Lessons automatically pause for 4 weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. No payments are taken during this time.
How much will I be charged?
Fortnightly fees are:
- Learn to Swim: $49.60
- Mini Squads: $51.00
- Teen/Adult Classes: $53.00
Sibling discounts may apply for second and third children.
Can I choose my debit day?
Direct debits are processed on the day of enrolment, then fortnightly on Mondays only. While payments are scheduled for Mondays, banks can take up to three business days to process the debit.
What happens if a payment fails?
If a payment is dishonoured, a fee may be charged by your financial institution and Ezidebit, in line with the Direct Debit Agreement. We’ll contact you by SMS, phone, or email so payment can be made before the next debit run.
Can my payment be re-run?
No, dishonoured payments are not re‑run via direct debit. If a payment fails, you must make payment in person or over the phone to bring your account up to date. If a dishonoured payment is not paid before the next scheduled fortnightly debit, an additional failed payment and associated fees may apply. Multiple failed payments may result in cancellation of lessons.
Can I use Active Kids vouchers?
Yes. Vouchers can be applied at any time and will appear as a credit on your account, reducing your next direct debit amount.
What if I don’t want to use direct debit?
Direct debit is the mandatory payment method for all Learn to Swim and Squad programs.
What happens if my lesson falls on a public holiday or the pool closes?
If a lesson is cancelled due to a public holiday or forced pool closure, your direct debit will be automatically adjusted.
Can I change my lesson day or time?
Yes, you may change your lesson day or time at any point subject to availability. Please note that changes are permanent, and make‑up lessons are not offered.
How do I put lessons on hold for holidays or planned absences?
You can request a planned absence (hold) with at least 24 hours’ notice by emailing drlc@randwick.nsw.gov.au or completing a form at reception. Planned absences (including illness) are limited to a maximum of eight (8) weeks per calendar year, with no more than four (4) consecutive weeks. An automatic pause is applied over the Christmas and New Year period. Credits are applied once non‑attendance has been confirmed. If joining after 01 July, a prorated allowance of four (4) planned absences will be issued.
What if my child is unwell?
If your child is unwell, please keep them home. No make‑up lessons are available. If supporting medical documentation is provided after the lesson has taken place or within 24 hours, a credit may beconsidered, subject to the annual absence limits. Medical absences form part of the total allowable planned absences.
How do I cancel my enrolment?
There are no lock‑in contracts. You can cancel at any time by providing written notice at least 7 days before the next billing cycle. Unfortunately, we’re unable to issue refunds once a direct debit has been processed.
If you cancel after your direct debit has been processed on a Monday, your child may continue to attend lessons for the following two weeks. Please note that no planned absences, refunds, or credits can be applied to these lessons.
If you have any other questions, please email drlc@randwick.nsw.gov.au or speak with our friendly team at the Swim School reception desk.
