Program

Teen Gym is a structured, gym based program designed for teens aged 11 - 15 years.
Specifically those who wish to increase:

  • Strength
  • Cardiovascular fitness
  • Agility and balance
  • Endurance

Using gym based exercises and equipment, teens can look forward to learning new exercises and methods of training, whilst increasing their knowledge and taking care of physical & mental health.

NSW Public School Holidays 

Memberships are continued during the school holidays (see Ts and Cs below).
Should you wish to put a hold on your child's membership throughout this time, please advise DRLC via email or by completing a hold form at reception.

General Information:

  • Suitable for young people aged between 11 – 15, who are serious about improving their health, fitness, and sporting abilities.
  • Class Times: 4:15pm – 5:00pm (45 minutes), during NSW Public School Term
  • Ages 11 -13 years old: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays
  • Ages 14 – 15 years old: Mon, Wed, Thurs – Group fitness studio, PLUS - Tuesday 4:15pm Gym floor session, with instructor
  • Warmup: compulsory for participation in each session
  • Targets: Cardio, Strength, Coordination and Functionality
  • Sessions have different focuses: weights, skills & drills, circuit, cardio, etc.
  • Each Session is planned, and instructor led/supervised.

MEMBERSHIP ACCESS - IMPORTANT

  • Access to any Teen Gym class throughout the term
  • Access to the gym: When accessing the gym each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is a current Facility member, or paid for a casual visit. They will not be permitted to train without supervision. Access is restricted to the following:
  • During NSW Public School Term: Weekends only (10am – 6pm)
  • During NSW Public School Holidays: Any day (10am – 4pm)
  • Cardio machines and Functional Training Zone (small weight up to 10Kg)

Looking to Join?

For New teens wishing to join the Teen Gym Program, a 20 minute induction with a qualified DRLC Trainer will be required prior to commencing. Please call 9093 6351 or email to make an appointment.

For new Teen Gym Memberships, a parent/guardian is required to attend DRLC in person on the first visit to authorise access for children 16 years and under.
