As we welcome the first week of Summer and warmer days, our pools are becoming popular spots for families to cool-off and enjoy quality time.

With more children splashing around — many of whom may be less familiar with water or still learning to swim compared to those who visit during the winter season — it’s a critical time to revisit water safety.

While lifeguards play an essential role in ensuring safety, they are not babysitters or substitutes for parental supervision.

*Supervise closely - Always have your eyes on your child
*Teach water safety - Familiarise children with basic rules and swimming lessons
*Remain ever vigilant and always watching - Distractions are dangerous. Supervision is the single most important thing you can do to keep your children safe around water
