Illegal dumping

Don't rubbish Randwick

Illegal dumping creates problems with safety, the appearance of the neighbourhood, property values and quality of life. We have established a special patrol for illegal dumpers, and you can help as well.

Did you know? In Randwick, most illegally dumped material is from households and includes unwanted mattresses, sofas, bric-a-brac, appliances and bags of garden clippings.

Illegal dumping fines

Dumping rubbish in public places is illegal and offenders may incur on-the-spot fines ranging from $750 up to $7,500 for individuals. Businesses can be fined up to $15,000.

Why dumping is bad

Not only is dumping aesthetically unpleasing, it often attracts more dumping as the pile of rubbish grows and then becomes a hazard as it blocks visibility and footpaths and attracts pests.

What to do if you have too much rubbish

If you have bulky waste such as white goods, or furniture that doesn't fit in your bin, why not use our household clean-up service, or take items to our Recycling Centre?
