Chinese speaking seniors are invited to join this event twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays for tutoring sessions on basic skills in using smartphones, Android tablets or iPads. Bookings essential online. You can choose between 2 ticket types: In Person at the library OR Online via Zoom. Only one registration is required to participate until the end of June.

There are two ticket types as there are two ways to participate:

  1. In Person: You will be at Lionel Bowen Library for the tutoring.
  2. Online: You will log onto Zoom to receive tutoring. A joining link will be sent to you via email after booking.

Choose your ticket type carefully as there is limited capacity and you may only select one ticket type. Please read the full terms and conditions below for IN PERSON attendees and ONLINE attendees.

Terms and Conditions for IN-PERSON Events:

The health & safety of our community and staff is our top priority. By registering, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions listed below including the Covid-safe measures. Note: these terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.

General Covid-Safe Terms and Conditions (as at 21st January 2021):

  • All events delivered in person are subject to change or postponement at short notice according to the most current NSW Government public health orders
  • All participants must check in using the NSW Government QR code. You must show your check-in confirmation to staff as you enter the venue. If you do not have a smart device, a staff member will enter your contact details into the NSW Government webform
    on your behalf.
  • If you have visited a designated hotspot as specified by NSW Health, do NOT enter the library premises and call the library for further information.
  • Face masks are recommended. More information about when to wear a mask here
  • If you are feeling ill or exhibiting symptoms, you need to stay home.
  • Each event space within Randwick City Library branches are subject to capacity numbers as set out by NSW Government Public Health Order;
  • 1.5 mtr physical distancing is to be maintained at all times;
  • Practising good hygiene is an expectation of all customers (e.g. washing your hands regularly, coughing into your elbow, disinfecting surfaces you've touched, etc.);
  • Patrons may be denied entry to or removed from the event for any failure to comply with the above terms and conditions.

Terms and Conditions for ONLINE Events:

  • Participants attending must be aged 55+ years and from a Chinese speaking background.
  • You must be a Library member to attend this event. Library membership is free and you can join online.
  • You must have an email address for receiving the invitation link before the class starts and access to a computer, a tablet/iPad, or a smartphone, as well as a reasonably reliable internet connection.
  • Your ticket can be cancelled by the organiser at any time without further notice.
  • Limited to one ticket per person. Duplicate tickets booked will be cancelled.
  • The ticket and link to join the classes are not transferrable.
  • Please cancel your ticket if you do not wish to attend the tutoring sessions anymore. This will enable others to participate.
  • You only need to register once to be able to attend the program until June 2021.
  • The ticket holder/attendee is not permitted to record or distribute the class video. All copyright is held by Randwick City Library.
  • Please join the event 10 minutes early to allow time for any technical setup or solving potential issues you might experience.
  • Your attendance at events supported by Randwick City Council may be digitally recorded through audio and/or video recordings. These recordings may be used later on council's websites, social media, or other external websites. By joining a session, you automatically consent to such recordings. If you do not consent to the recording, please contact us to discuss your concerns in good time prior to the web-event date.
