Consultation has concluded.

Project update: Council has resolved to extend the project until April 2021. The outcomes of the resident survey were reported at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 23 February 2021. You can read the consultation outcomes report here.

In November 2020 following requests from local businesses, Randwick Council created more footpath space on Coogee Bay Road for pedestrians, shoppers and outdoor dining.

Consultation with the community and businesses found general support for the three-month activation which is due to end in February 2021. (Read the Council report for a summary of consultation outcomes)

To support businesses and our local community navigate COVID-19 safely Council changed Coogee Bay Road to one-way between Arden and Brook Streets, maintained parking on both sides, and used the extra space for more tables, chairs and spaces for people. The extra space helps support businesses and creates a livelier and more pleasant town centre for shoppers.

Randwick Council is now seeking community feedback on the success of the project and whether to extend the project past February. Take our survey to share your thoughts.

Survey closes 29 January 2021.
