The Story of Plastic online movie screening

The Story of Plastic is a stunning new film from The Story of Stuff Project.

Do you want to know more about how to stop the flood of plastic in our environment?
This film uncovers the ugly truth behind the current global plastic pollution crisis.

Striking footage shot over three continents illustrates the ongoing catastrophe affecting fields, mountains, rivers, seas and skies – the effects of plastic production and recycling processes.
Animations, interviews and revealing scenes show the consequences of the flood of plastic, smothering ecosystems and poisoning communities around the world –and the global movement rising up in response.

Wild Letter workshop

What to bring: Recycled materials such as old nature magazines, large format nature photo books from the Op Shop, nature calendars or used envelopes. Plain recycled paper or light coloured cardboard for address label to craft eye catching envelopes.

DIY Beeswax wraps online workshop

Learn how to make and maintain your own beeswax wraps in this online demonstration and Q&A session. Beeswax wraps are a great way to reduce the use of plastic cling wrap to keep foods fresh.

Gardening with natives

Celebrate National Tree Day by learning how to enrich your garden with native plants. In this workshop learn how to plant a successful native garden that looks great and provides habitat for our local native animals.

DIY Clothes mending (workshop for beginners)

Learn the basics of clothes mending and make the clothes you love last.

Learn the hidden powers of a needle and thread. In this workshop you will learn simple techniques to repair rips and tears to make the clothes you love last or give your old clothes a fresh look. NO sewing machine necessary but there will be demonstrations of repairs done by machine as well as handsewing.
