A recent report from Royal Lifesaving Australia has revealed devastating statistics recording more than 339 drowning deaths across Australia over the past 12 months (as of 16.09.2022). Sadly, this is the highest number of drowning deaths to occur in a 12-month period in the past 25 years. The news has prompted experts to issue an urgent plea to make water safety a focus this summer.

During the pandemic, many pools and learn-to-swim programs were forced to close. Now that restrictions have eased, its essential children are enrolled back into swimming lessons with the goal of recovering and advancing their water safety and swimming skills.

With summer just around the corner, now is the ideal time to enrol. At DRLC we offer a reputable swimming program catering for all levels, from babies through to adults. Please visit our swim school page to find out more information or email us at drlc@randwick.nsw.gov.au
