What is NOX?

NOX, Latin for night, is a night sculpture walk around the Randwick Environment Park. Experience the natural environment like never before as artists from UNSW Art & Design transform the park and wetland into an illuminated outdoor art gallery. For three nights only artworks will be installed around the park to form a leisurely 1.5km loop walk, starting and ending at the Randwick Community Centre.

All artworks on the journey will be powered and lit by renewable energy sources.

Food & Drinks

Food trucks and the bar will be trading from 5pm to 9pm. Once again we will have a diverse selection of mouth watering food trucks including Algae Fine Food (organic Vegan), Barbicrew (Brazilian BBQ), Big Dave’s Chipper Van,  Hut dog, Vege4Love (Malaysian Vegetarian), WaffloWholly Schnit, and coffee by Grind N Press Coffee Crew.

We are proud to announce that Archie Rose Distilling Co. will be bring their award-winning spirits to NOX this year, along with an offering of wine and beer. Keep an eye out for the Archie Rose Bar and to learn more about Australia's most highly awarded distillery including gin, vodka, whisky and spirits experiences.

Gelato Messina will be pulling up in their famous retro gelato van serving up a range of highly delicious flavours. All their gelato is made from scratch, using their own recipes and the best ingredients they can get their hands on.  Not only do they make, bake and create all of the additions like cookies, brownies, coulis, jams and meringues in their in-house bakery in Rosebery, but they’ve gone one step further by growing their own strawberries and hazelnuts, and even have their own dairy farm in country Victoria, providing them with super creamy jersey milk.

Frequently asked questions

In order to make your NOX experience as effortless and enjoyable as possible, here you'll find answers to some frequently asked questions about the night sculpture walk.

Is NOX a ticketed event?

You do not need a ticket to attend NOX - all you need to do is turn up! You will need to sign in using the Service NSW Covid-Safe Check in, or by providing your contact details manually. In order to keep the event COVID-safe, capacity will be monitored. Please monitor our facebook event page for updates about capacity before you leave home.

What time is the event?

The exhibition times are 6-8pm every night during the NOX event. During this time, you will see artworks, installations, video works and live performances. The bar and food trucks will operate from 5pm to 9pm.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing flat sturdy shoes and something warm.

Is the event wheelchair and pram accessible?

The NOX Night Sculpture Walk is an easy 1.5km loop walk with no stairs. The majority of the walk is relatively flat and situated on wide paved footpaths, enabling easy access for wheelchair and pram users.

However, a short part of the walk (approximately 50m) is unpaved, narrow and located alongside bushland. It is possible for a small pram/wheelchair to navigate this section of the walk which however there are no artworks located along this stretch so we recommend you instead join the path near the corner of Joongah and Cooper Streets.

Larger wheelchairs and prams are recommended to join the path at the corner of Joongah and Cooper Streets.

Event staff will be on site every night to assist with accessibility and safety.

Will there be parking?

Free Car parking is available for visitors near the main entry, accessible via Munda Street. Follow the signage!

Will there be accessible parking?

Car parking close to the event entry will be available for visitors with limited mobility and/or using a wheelchair. A valid mobility parking permit must be displayed.

Can I bring my dog to the event?

Dogs are welcome at the event but must be on a lead at all times. Additionally, dogs must not be within 10m of food preparation areas.

Is there an ATM?

There are no ATM facilities , however food trucks and bar accept cashless payments.
