Traffic, Road Closures and public transport information

The Spot Festival will be held on Sunday 24 March 2024.

A number of changed traffic conditions will apply to The Spot for the event set up, operation and pack up. These temporary changes will affect local residents and public transport routes. The information provided below will help minimise any disruption to you or your household.

2024 Road closures map

Special Event Clearways

Event clearways will apply to certain streets in and around The Spot. Temporary parking restrictions will be imposed in the lead up to the event.

Vehicles will be towed if they are parked in Event clearways in the following areas:

From 16:00 Thursday 21 March 2024 to 00:00 Monday 25 March 2024

  1. Aeolia Street - both sides for 40 metres, east of Perouse Road.

From 22:30 Saturday 23 March 2024 to 00:00 25 March 2024

  1. St Pauls Street - both sides, between Dine St and Daintrey Crescent (to the furthest end of Daintrey Crescent on St Pauls Street)
  2. Soudan Street - southern side for 50 metres, between St Pauls Street and Perouse Road
  3. Perouse Road - both sides, from Soudan Street and Aeolia Street to Barker Street
  4. Nancye Street - Eastern side for 25 metres, south from St Paul Street
  • Temporary Clearway Signs will be installed in this area to notify clearway dates and times.

Road Closures

From 04:00 on Sunday 24 March to 00:00 Monday 25 March 2024, the following road closures will apply:

  1. Perouse Road - from Soudan Street and Aeolia Street to Barker Street
  2. St Pauls Street - from Dine Street to Nancye Street

The road closures will impact access to residential driveways in the above streets. Should you live within the event footprint area, it is advised that you park your car at a nearby street before 04:00 on Sunday 24 March to maintain your vehicular access.

Additional road closures will be implemented to complement the main event road closures. Residential access will be allowed for the following road closures and will be managed by traffic controllers:

  1. Soudan Street - from Avoca Street
  2. St Pauls Street - from Avoca Street
  3. St Pauls Street -from the corner of Lee Street
  4. Nancye Street - from Lee Street
  5. Lee Street- from the corner of Ivy Street
  6. Ivy Street - from Perouse Road
  7. Dine Street - from Barker Street
  8. Hardiman Avenue - from St Pauls Street
  9. Daintrey Crescent - from St Pauls Street
  10. Wilson Car Park - from St Pauls Street

Bus Diversions

Buses which usually stop on St Pauls Street and Perouse Road within the event area, will be diverted to temporary bus stops on nearby streets on Sunday 24 March 2024. Please check signs attached to the current bus stops, and the website transportnsw.info for details.

The following bus diversions will be in place from 03:00 on Sunday 24 March 2024 to 00:00 Monday 25 March 2024.

  1. Bus Route 356 - Eastgardens to Bondi Junction
  2. Bus Route 373 - Coogee to City Museum (Loop Service)
  3. Bus Route 375 - Eastgardens to Randwick (Loop Service)
  4. Buses serving 356, 373, 375 routes will be operating through Belmore Road then Avoca Street then Barker Street then Perouse Road then Howard Street then Carr Street and returning via the same route.
  5. Temporary bus zones will be established on the eastern and western side of Perouse Road, south of the roundabout on Barker Street, to replace the existing bus zones located on the western and eastern side of Perouse Road within the road closure.

Sustainable Transport

Help us reduce the environmental impact of the festival by riding your bike to the event.  Bike parking will be available at some festival entrances, see our website for further details. Please note Council is not responsible for the loss or damage to bicycles, and they must be removed before 8pm.
