Coogee Dawn Service 2023
Anzac Day is a National day of remembrance and commemoration. Commemorative services are held each year at dawn, the time of the original Gallipoli landing.
The Coogee Anzac Day Dawn Service is produced in collaboration with the Coogee Randwick Clovelly RSL sub-branch, and will be held at 5.30am on Tuesday 25 April at Goldstein Reserve, Coogee.

The service will include a Welcome to Country, prayer, laying of wreaths, Last Post bugle call, a minute’s silence, the New Zealand and Australian anthems and also the National anthem sung in Dharawal language, and other special musical performances by Amber Lawrence, Bondi Brass, and South Coogee Public School Choir.
We would like to thank all the sub branches in Randwick City: Coogee Randwick Clovelly, Kensington, Malabar, Maroubra and Matraville for their ongoing support of ANZAC Day commemorations.
Traffic and road closures
Please note that the Northern end of Goldstein Reserve will be closed from 7am on Friday 21 April in order to safely install the event infrastructure. The majority of this infrastructure will be removed by Wednesday. There will be vehicle movements at Goldstein Reserve during the set up in the days prior and after.
We anticipate additional foot and vehicle traffic in the area from 4am – 7.30am on the day and there will be amplified sound played during the event.
Please note the following road closures will be implemented on Tuesday 25th April 2023 to accommodate the Dawn Service:
5am – 7.30am (Dawn Service):
- Arden Street from Dolphin Street to Carr Street
- Coogee Bay Road from Brook Street to Arden Street
- Alfreda Street at Arden Street
- Vicar Street to Coogee Bay Road
The Dolphin Street car park (near Coogee Pavilion) will be closed for the event from 5pm Monday 24th April – 7:30am Tuesday 25th April.
