Coogee Dawn Service 2024
Anzac Day is a National day of remembrance and commemoration. Commemorative services are held each year at dawn, the time of the original Gallipoli landing.
The Coogee Anzac Day Dawn Service is produced in collaboration with the Coogee Randwick Clovelly RSL sub-branch and will be held at 5.30am on Thursday 25 April at Goldstein Reserve, Coogee.
There are no tickets required, with 3,000 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis and plenty of standing room available. Please note that the gates will open at 5am and darkness and silence is encouraged until the ceremony commences at 5.30am.
Please note that the Northern end of Goldstein Reserve will be closed from 7am on Monday 22 April in order to safely install the event infrastructure. The majority of this infrastructure will be removed by Friday 26 April. There will be vehicle movements at Goldstein Reserve during the set up in the days prior and after.
The service will be livestreamed on Randwick Council's Facebook page.
The service will include a Welcome to Country, prayer, laying of wreaths, Last Post bugle call, a minute’s silence, the New Zealand and Australian anthems and also the National anthem sung in Dharawal language, and other special musical performances.

Traffic and road closures
Please note the following road closures will be implemented on Thursday 25 April 2024 from 5:00am to 7:30am to accommodate the Dawn Service:
- Arden Street from Dolphin Street to Carr Street
- Coogee Bay Road from Vicar St to Arden Street
- Alfreda Street at Arden Street
- Dolphin St, east from the roundabout on Arden St
Dolphin Street Car Park (near Coogee Pavilion) will be closed for the event from 5pm Wednesday 24 April to 7:30am Thursday 25 April.
Please note that buses will be impacted by the road closures, please visit www.transportnsw.info/ for further details.
