Did you know the landscape of La Perouse was transformed in the 1930s with three sprawling "unemployment" camps that housed hundreds and hundreds of people and their families?

Join the La Perouse Museum Curator on a short walking tour into the La Pa headland and back to the Museum, retracing the sites and stories of those people that found a home during one of the toughest times in Australia's history. You'll hear stories of hardship, prejudice, "making-do" and most of all, fierce community spirit about the people who lived at Happy Valley, Frog Hollow and Hill 60 at La Perouse.

The tour starts on the veranda of La Perouse Museum at 1pm sharp, and then heads onto the Headland and a short walk into the National Park, before heading back towards the Museum and into the exhibition "Happy Valley: La Perouse in the Depression" in our Community Galleries.
