NSW Health warning
NSW Health is reminding people to once again be vigilant about their health, with smoke from fires north of Sydney prompting a poor air quality forecast for Friday.
NSW Health Director of Environmental Health, Dr Richard Broome said the fine particles in smoke can irritate the respiratory system and aggravate existing lung and heart conditions.
People with breathing conditions should avoid outdoor physical activity when there’s smoke around and people with asthma should also follow their Asthma Action Plan and carry their relieving medication with,” he said. “If you’re prescribed a preventer puffer, it’s really important to be taking it at the moment.”
Donations
There are a number of local women’s refuges helping women and children escaping violence. The Safe Haven is a foundation that provides funding for case management and counselling for victims of family violence, a critically important thing to assist women in safety planning and dealing with the trauma of the violence.
You can donate to the Safe Haven Project using this donate now link.
Resident information
Please note that temporary road closures will occur along Coogee Bay Road.
