Christmas & New Years Eve

Christmas and New Years Eve in Randwick City 2020

The iconic Coogee Carols and Coogee Sparkles NYE fireworks events will not proceed this year after Randwick Council made the tough decision to cancel the events to protect the health and wellbeing of the community.

Instead, this year Council will deliver an expanded program of Christmas activities designed to bring joy, festive cheer and hope in a COVID-safe way for the whole community.

So, what's on?

Throughout the month of December Christmas will be popping up in town centres and beaches around our City. There will be a Christmas light trail, roving elves, carol singers and buskers, chalk art, window displays and more. Here's where you can learn more about all the activities and what's on where, or you can use the map below.

We encourage you to snap a picture while you're out and about and share the Christmas spirit! Tag @RandwickCityCouncil on Facebook and @RandwickCouncil on Instagram. You can also  use the hashtag #ChristmasinRandwickCity

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and enjoyable New Year.

Help us spread the cheer!

This year, we want to see everyone light up their homes with Christmas cheer! We'll be putting a 'Christmas Lights Trail' together and Mayor Danny Said will pick the most festive house in each suburb. Nominate yourself, your neighbour, your friends! Here's where you can learn more.

Plus, we'll be calling on you to nominate people in the community who have gone above and beyond with our Kindness Calendar. A winner will be announced each day for 24 days in the lead up to Christmas and be showcased on council’s website plus receive a prize donated from our wonderful and supportive local businesses. Learn more and nominate here.
