The Randwick Recycling Centre will open back up in a COVID-safe way beginning Wednesday 6 October. Appointments will be needed and will be allocated at 15-minute intervals throughout the day from 7am – 2pm, Monday - Friday.
In an effort to keep our staff and community safe from COVID-19, the Recycling Centre closed in June, earlier this year.
“We know this has been a much-missed service and we’re excited to be able to transition back to normal by initially opening the centre back up for the community on an appointment basis,” says Councillor Dylan Parker, Mayor of Randwick.
The move to an appointment-based service is aimed at ensuring access for our community, while keeping our employees and members of the community safe, by reducing the amount of traffic at the centre at one time.
The by-appointment booking system will continue to be reviewed as the operating environment evolves around us, with the hope to progressively increase numbers.
To make an appointment:
1) Call Randwick Council Customer Service on 1 300 722 542
Customer Service will allocate the next available 15-minute time slot for your Recycle Centre drop off.
2) Confirmation email sentA confirmation email will be sent to the customer, which outlines the terms and conditions of use.
3) On arrival
When attending the centre, the customer must wear a mask, display no symptoms of COVID-19, do a COVID-safe check in, and accept the conditions of entry.
For now, green waste will not be accepted at the centre. Please call Council if you need green waste picked up.
